Happy Mid Autumn Festival 2016, Making Snowskin Mooncake at Home

15 Sep

It is Mid Autumn Festival and I have been wanting to try making Snow Skin mooncake at home with the kids. This year we tried.

It was not as easy as I thought, but it does worth a try. After all you never know how it will turn out if you do not try at least once.

What you need to make snow skin mooncakes:

150 g of Koufen, 150 g of icing sugar, 50 g of shortening, about 180mL of cold water, food coloring, mooncake filling, and mooncake moulds.

Mix the first three ingredients with water until they form a dough, split the dough into portions for different colors, put coloring into each portion, put the filling, and lastly put them into the moulds.

Happy trying ^^
