Ancol, Jakarta, November 2015

21 Nov

We went to Jakarta at beginning November 2015. Stayed at Diskoveri Hotel Ancol for one night. The hotel offered decent price for a night. 700,000 Rupiah (approximately $S 70/night) for their superior room.

We booked 2 superior rooms there, connecting one and another. Breakfasts were inclusive, 2 persons per room. The breakfast was decent and delicious. Quite good spread, considering the price. We also ate dinner at our first night and lunch at the following day. The food was great. Singapore Chicken Rice, Indonesian Soto Tangkar, Es Teler (Coconut, Jackfruit, and Avocado Crushed Ice Dessert).

Just beside the hotel, there is Telaga Sampireun, a nice Sundanese restaurant that let your kids feed fishes, have fun at children playground, and enjoy nice Grilled seafood.

I had wedding party at my first night at the Hotel, so we were busy on the first night. The night after that we ventured around Ancol with my sister in law’s car.

We rent a boat to bring us around Ancol sea for 15-20 minutes (We paid the driver 200,000 Rupiahs, around $S20)

The boat driver brought us to see and catch some jellyfishes, which to my surprise, were the kind of Jellyfishes that we found at Kakaban Island, Kalimantan. We found two types, the colorless and the brown ones. My kids enjoyed the boat ride, touching the Jellyfishes (the driver helped us to catch them).
